Hong Kong Government's Electronic Health Record interoperability system, "eHealth Record" (eHR):

Through a referral from the Hospital Authority, patients can undergo imaging examinations at the medical center. With the patient's authorization, the images and reports from these examinations will be uploaded to the Hospital Authority's central electronic medical record system.

The patient's primary care doctor at the Hospital Authority can then readily access the images and reports of the latest examination from the electronic medical record system. This allows the doctor to provide timely and appropriate treatment procedures for the patient.

The eHR system enables more effective and suitable treatment for patients by providing more timely diagnosis and care, while also reducing the need for duplicate testing.
